So you are thinking about getting started in underground soap box racing and you want to go race with P.I.S.S., but you don’t know how to get started?  Well help is here!

Keep in mind we want you to be a part of the action!  We not only need drivers, but we could always use more workers, photographers, spectators and helpers.  So there is plenty for you to do.

So here is what you need to do to get started;

Step One is to go to the Message Boards and register and then introduce your self.  That will open many doors and bring you a lot of good information and help.  This will also start the process of making new friends with the group.

Step Two is to go to the "News Letter" page of the web site and fill out the form so we can make sure we get you on the e-mail list.  This is how you get all the latest up-to-date information as well as last minute information concerning events, meet spots, and any other important information.

  Step Three is to read through and understand the Rules.  You need to know the Car Construction Rules as well as the Race Rules.  You can find them on the “RULES” page of the web site.

  Step Four is to read and understand the “HOW IT WORKS/QUESTIONS” page of the web site.  This will give you all the basic information you need to know so you will know what to expect at your first event.

  Step Five is to go on the Message Boards and reserve a loaner car for the next race.  We have a few loaner cars which we built for new comers to use and also for the use of some regulars who haven’t yet completed building their own cars.

  You need to know, the loaner cars are first made available to the people who helped build them, maintain them, fix them, and get them ready to go.  Then they are made available to anyone else who may be in need of using them.

  Sometimes the loaner cars are reserved quickly, so get your request in as soon as possible!  AND if you do request the use of a loaner car, make sure you show up at the race to use it!  This is just common courtesy as someone else may have been turned away from a race because a loaner car was not available to them.  Not showing up when you have committed to using a loaner car may result in you being put on the bottom of the list the next time!

We also have a few Loaner Helmets available.  So if you don't have a suitable helmet of your own, be sure to request a Loaner Helmet when you put in your Loaner Car request!

  Step Six is to start building your car.  There is PLENTY of help available to you to get this done!  A lot of our members gather together to work on the cars at a central location where tools and equipment are available for our use.  Most Saturdays, are work days when we work on the cars and get things ready to go.  You are more then welcome to come by and receive a lot of help cutting, welding, machining, grinding, painting assembling and testing your car!

  Some Sundays and a few evenings during the week, there may also be assistance available to help get your project finished.

  In addition, we have some serious discounts available to members on almost any parts, race wear, helmets, and safety equipment you may need!  So don’t hesitate to ask about that!  We try to keep a lot of these parts in stock so we have what may be needed to complete your race car when you need it

  Step Seven is to show up for the next race at the meet spot and be on time for the driver’s meeting.  Then do the card draw, get to the course and get lined up for some of the most intense fun you have ever experienced!

And don't just keep it to yourself!  Bring a friend or two!  It will be more fun for you and for them!
